The information and services provided on funchat.in ("FunChat", "we", "us", "the platform"), including our chat modes, games, community features and VIP membership, are made available on an "as is" and "as available" basis, for general communication and entertainment purposes only. By accessing or using FunChat, you acknowledge and agree to this disclaimer, our Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
FunChat connects users for real-time, anonymous conversations (global chat, random text/voice/video chat, chat rooms, Friends and confessions) and games (Draw & Guess and Ludo). All messages, text, images, drawings, audio, usernames and other content are generated by users and not by FunChat. We do not create, initiate the transmission of, select the receiver of, modify, or pre-screen this content before it is sent.
FunChat operates as an "intermediary" under Section 2(1)(w) of the Information Technology Act, 2000, and observes the due diligence required under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (as amended), including publishing terms of use, informing users of the rules, acting on lawful takedown and reporting requests, and maintaining a Grievance Officer (see our Privacy Policy). We do not endorse, verify or take responsibility for any content, opinion or statement made by any user, and we rely on the safe-harbour protection available to intermediaries under Section 79 of the IT Act, 2000.
We use automated tools such as word filters, spam and rate limits, phone-number and link blocking, image screening and AI review of reports. We run them in good faith to keep the platform safe. They do not make FunChat the author, editor or publisher of user content, and they do not mean we review or approve everything users post. Users are solely responsible for their own interactions and for any content they share, send or receive.
Because chat partners are anonymous and often randomly matched, FunChat cannot guarantee the accuracy, safety, legality or appropriateness of any content, or the identity, age or behaviour of any user. Use of the platform is entirely at your own risk. We strongly advise users to:
Filters are not guarantees. FunChat blocks phone numbers, links, social-media names and IDs, abusive words and suspected NSFW images, and applies spam and rate limits. These measures are automated and imperfect. Some harmful content may get through, and some harmless content may be blocked. They do not make FunChat responsible for content that users send.
NSFW images are blocked. Sexually explicit or nude images, and anything involving minors, are not allowed on FunChat at any cost, and any image our automated screening flags as possibly NSFW is blocked and not delivered. Users who send prohibited content can be banned permanently and reported to the authorities.
Personal information and images. If you choose to share personal information or personal images with another user, you do so entirely at your own risk. Anything you send can be screenshotted, saved, forwarded or published by others, and deleting a message does not undo that. FunChat is not responsible if your personal information or images are leaked, saved, re-shared or misused by any user or third party.
Draw & Guess and Ludo are free games for entertainment, with no real-money stakes or prizes. Other players are real people whose behaviour we cannot control. Ludo may fill empty seats with computer-controlled bots after a short wait. Bots are not users and are not real people.
AI features (such as the AI companion) generate responses automatically. They can be inaccurate, offensive or inappropriate, are not advice of any kind, and should not be relied on. Content generated by AI is not a statement of FunChat's views. AI-generated material may be labelled as such.
Friends lets you message people you have added, send voice messages and one-time photos, and (for VIP members) make voice calls. Those conversations are between you and the other person.
Do not share anything personal. That means your phone number, home address, ID documents, bank or UPI details, passwords or OTPs, social-media IDs, and personal, private or intimate photos. Never send anything you would not want other people to see.
If a chat leaks, FunChat is not responsible. Anyone you chat with can screenshot, save, record, copy or forward a message, photo, voice message or call, and chats can also leak through another person's phone or account. FunChat is not responsible or liable for any leak, misuse, blackmail, scam, harassment or loss that results, whether it happens on FunChat or somewhere else.
Photos follow the same image agreement as random chat: sexually explicit images and anything involving minors are banned and blocked, you are solely responsible for what you send, and you accept that FunChat is not responsible if a photo you send is saved, leaked or misused.
FunChat blocks phone numbers, abusive words and explicit images automatically, and shows a warning when a message names a social-media app. These tools are imperfect and do not make FunChat responsible for what users send or do. If someone makes you uncomfortable, block and report them.
VIP is an optional paid membership for the period you buy. It is not a donation, is not a recurring subscription unless stated at purchase, and unlocks the features described at the time of purchase, which may change. VIP does not give you any special right to use the platform in breach of our rules, and does not make FunChat responsible for other users. Payments are checked before VIP is activated (usually within a few minutes, sometimes longer) and are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise (see our Terms of Service).
FunChat is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly permit access to minors. If we become aware that a user is underage, the account, session and associated device/IP address will be permanently banned without notice. We cannot verify age, so parents and guardians should supervise and restrict their children's use of the internet.
FunChat has an absolute zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and for any use of the platform by, or sexualisation of, a minor. As required under the POCSO Act, 2012 and the Information Technology Act, 2000, any such content or conduct detected or reported to us is reported to India's National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal and/or the local police or Special Juvenile Police Unit, with evidence preserved for law enforcement. This is a legal obligation, not merely a platform policy. See our Terms of Service for full detail.
If you encounter content that exploits or endangers a child, do not wait for us. Report it directly at cybercrime.gov.in or to your nearest police station, in addition to using our in-app report button.
FunChat displays advertisements served by third-party advertising companies, including Google AdSense, PixFuture and other ad networks. These companies may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads based on your visits to this or other websites. Links to external websites, ads or services are provided for convenience only. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, products or availability, and any dealings you have with advertisers are between you and them.
You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings page.
FunChat may be interrupted, changed or discontinued at any time, in whole or in part, including features, modes, games and VIP benefits, with or without notice. Chat content is deleted automatically (global chat after 15 minutes, chat rooms after 10 minutes, Friends voice messages after 24 hours, other Friends messages after 90 days) and cannot be recovered. We are not responsible for any content or data lost this way.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FunChat and its operators shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including emotional distress, harassment, loss of data, leakage or misuse of personal information or images you chose to share, or any harm resulting from interactions with other users, whether that harm occurs during a chat, call, game or room, or in any offline meeting or arrangement made as a result of contact through FunChat. This includes errors, delays, false positives or false negatives in our automated moderation, filters, image screening and AI features.
By using FunChat, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless FunChat and its operators from any claim or liability arising from your own violation of our Terms of Service or applicable law, or from content you post or transmit through the platform. Nothing in this disclaimer limits any right you have under law that cannot be waived.
Nothing on FunChat, including content from users, bots or AI features, constitutes legal, medical, financial or professional advice. Any information exchanged during chats is for casual conversational purposes only and should not be relied upon as such. If you are in crisis or in danger, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.
We may update this disclaimer from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. Continued use of FunChat after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised disclaimer.
